25 Years Ago (week of Oct. 22-28, 1967):

* The George A. Dezes family lost a house to fire for the second time in four months. The house, a 27-room mansion in the Waterloo area, was destroyed despite the efforts of 18 firefighting units from 12 different stations. The Dezes' first house, a Swiss-style chalet which had burned to the ground the previous June, was located about 100 yards from the mansion. The family had been living in the mansion while the chalet was being rebuilt.

* It was announced this week that the St. Louis Catholic School in Clarksville would participate in a program testing a sex education curriculum, along with six other Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
