Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction.

New highway projects

U.S. 1 north-- Expect single lane closures from Miller Road to Sheradale Drive for drainage work.

I-695 inner and outer loop-- Single and double lane closures between U.S. 40 and Liberty Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. today through Thursday night for roadway and bridge reconstruction.

U.S. 50/301 -- Expect daytime lane closures for construction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on eastbound and westbound U.S. 50/301 from the Patuxent River to I-97.

U.S. 50/Route 424 -- Expect delays for lane closures and traffic pattern shifts on U.S. 50 from 11 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. today through Thursday for work on new Davidsonville Road briges.

I-695 outer loop -- The shoulder at Liberty Road will be closed for sound wall repairs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow through Friday.

I-695 inner and outer loop Expect delays and single lane closures between Belair Road and Perring Parkway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow through Friday. Two lanes may be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-95 southbound, Route 216 to Van Dusan Road -- Expect two right lanes to be closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow.

I-95 northbound, Van Dusan Road to Route 216 -- Expect two right lanes to be closed until 4 p.m. today.

West Street -- Expect nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. tonight through Friday morning for curb and gutter replacement, resurfacing and other work.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following bus route changes for this week. For information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Temporary routes

No. 1 -- Beginning today and effective until further notice, buses will follow a temporary route and layover at a new point because of reconstruction of the Fort Avenue Bridge.

Southbound via regular route eastbound on Fort Avenue to Towson Street, then layover in transit stop opposite Towson Street. Northbound from layover point, east on Fort Avenue, north on Andre Street, west on Clement Street, south on Towson Street, west on Fort Avenue, then via regular route.

No. 17 -- In Ferndale, buses are traveling a temporary route until further notice because of construction on Broadview Boulevard at Orchard Road.

Southbound via regular route to Broadview and Orchard, south on Broadview, east on Third Avenue, south on Baltimore & Annapolis Boulevard, then via regular route.

Northbound via regular route to Baltimore & Annapolis Boulevard, west on Third Avenue, north on Broadview to Orchard, then via regular route.

Election Day

Buses, light rail and MARC trains will run on a regular schedule Tuesday. The information center's hours will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Greek festival

The annual Greek Festival will close Preston Street between Maryland Avenue and Cathedral Street on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again Friday from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Nov. 9, necessitating the following bus route change:

Westbound via Preston Street to Maryland Avenue, south on Maryland Avenue, west on Chase Street, west on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, north on Howard Street, west on Dolphin Street, then via regular route.

No change eastbound.
