Police seek suspect in Baltimore carjacking

November 01, 1992

In the most recent city carjacking, police are searching for a man who allegedly stole a 1985 black Ford Escort from its owner at gunpoint in East Baltimore yesterday afternoon.

Randy Davis, 29, of the 1900 block of North Chester St., was getting out of his Escort in the 1500 block of Harford Ave. at 1:13 p.m., when a man approached him.

The man then produced an unknown type and caliber of handgun and demanded his keys, police reported.

Mr. Davis turned over the keys, and the man jumped in the car and took off, police said.

Mr. Davis was not injured during the incident.

Police are looking for a black male suspect, 19 to 25 years old. The suspect is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a black jump suit.

The Escort had Maryland license tag ZXN 397.
