Wright routs Joppatowne, 28-0

ELKTON — C. Milton Wright (9-0, 7-0) set the tone for what became a 28-0 Harford County League rout of homestanding Joppatowne (7-2, 5-2) when it struck for a touchdown in the first two minutes of play last night.

Jason Tharpe took care of that on a 1-yard plunge, and the 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior went on to score three touchdowns and a conversion.

The possibile battle among three of the county's top four running backs turned out to be a 1-2 punch for the visitors. Tharpe ran for 123 yards and senior Chris Gill 64, and the defense checked leader Chad Gary with 27 yards on 14 carries.

Aberdeen 20, North Harford 3

Mike Cromwell scored two touchdowns, leading Aberdeen (5-4, 3-4) past North Harford (2-7, 2-6).

Fallston 42, Havre de Grace 0

Nick Johnson ran for three touchdowns to lead the Cougars (6-3, 5-2).

Elkton 44, Bel Air 6

Steve Walklett scored four touchdowns as Elkton (7-2) downed Bel Air (1-8).
