Westminster: David A. Engle of Woodbine told police someone forced open the rear sliding window of his vehicle and removed several articles inside while it was parked in the 140 Village Shopping Center Monday. The total loss is about $340.

A bicycle valued at $80 was taken from the residence of Betty Jean Summers on Carroll View Avenue, she reported to police Tuesday.

Deborah Carter of Spalding Court told police property was stolen from the rear yard of her house on Wednesday. She estimated the value of the lost articles to be about $30.

FIRE

* Westminster: Firefighters from New Windsor and Westminster stations were dispatched to Uniontown Road for a report of a house fire at 6:49 p.m. on Wednesday.

For the second time in about a week, firefighters were dispatched to one of the county office buildings to investigate a reported odor of gas. Volunteers from Westminster, Reese, Pleasant Valley and Manchester responded to the call on Court Street at 11:43 p.m. Wednesday.

* Shamrock Acres: A report of a kitchen fire in a house on Cornstalk Drive brought fire equipment from Reese and Hampstead at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday.
