Crown Central Petroleum Corp.

EARNINGS

October 30, 1992

Continuing weak demand for gasoline contributed to a $3.8 million loss for the third quarter at this Baltimore-based oil company.

Crown Central said that because of the weak economy, it has not been able to pass on to customers the cost of meeting tighter anti-pollution laws. To cut costs, the company said it would continue paring its operations.

The company also said that at its October meeting, its board voted to continue the suspension of the 10-cents regular quarterly cash dividend on Class A and Class B common stock that began in July.
