Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction.

New highway projects

U.S. 1 north -- Expect single lane closures from Miller Road to Sheradale Drive for stripping, curb, gutter and drainage work.

I-695 inner and outer loop -- Single and double lane closures between U.S. 40 and Liberty Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. today through Thursday night for roadway and bridge reconstruction.

U.S. 50/301-- Expect daytime lane closures for construction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the eastbound and westbound U.S. 50/301 from the Patuxent River to I-97.

U.S. 50/Route 424 -- Expect delays for lane closures and traffic pattern shifts on U.S. 50 from 11 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 and 29 and Nov. 1 through 5 for work on new Davidsonville Road briges.

I-695 outer loop -- The shoulder at Liberty Road will be closed for sound wall repairs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow through Friday.

I-95 southbound, Route 100 interchange to Route 32 interchange -- Expect the far right lane to be closed from today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I-95 southbound, from Howard County-Prince George's line to one half-mile south of Van Dusan Road -- Expect two right lanes to be closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow.

I-95 northbound, near the Laurel rest area -- Expect two right lanes to be closed until 5 a.m. tomorrow.

Ostend and Warner streets -- The intersection will be closed for two weeks beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow for reconstruction of the Ostend Street bridge. Ostend Street between Russell and Warner will be closed to all traffic; Warner Street between Ostend and Stockholm will be restricted to local traffic.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following bus route changes for this week. For information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Halloween party

The Hampden Halloween party Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. will close 36th Street between Roland and Chestnut avenues, temporarily diverting these bus routes:

No. 27 (Reisterstown Plaza Station, Rogers Avenue Station and Mount. Washington service) -- Southbound via regular route on Falls Road to 37th Street, east on 37th, south on Chestnut to 36th, then via regular route. Northbound via regular route on Chestnut to 36th, north on Chestnut, west on 37th, north on Falls Road, then via regular route.

No. 27 (Roland & University and via Cold Spring service) -- Southbound via regular route on Roland to 37th, east on 37th, south on Chestnut to 36th, then via regular route. Northbound via regular route on Chestnut to 36th, north on Chestnut, west on

37th, north on Roland, then via regular route.

Temporary route

No. 61 -- Construction work today will close Calvert Street between 33rd and 34th streets until 6 p.m. Northbound buses will travel regular route on Calvert to 33rd, west on 33rd, north on Charles Street, west on University Parkway, then via regular route. No change southbound.
