X-rays of May are negative

North Carroll girls' soccer wing Stephanie May, who was taken by ambulance to Carroll County General Hospital Monday night after her team's 2-0 victory over Liberty, was diagnosed as having received a mild concussion in her collision with Liberty goalkeeper Dani Fostik in the final seconds of the game at Liberty.

North Carroll coach Phil Myers said yesterday X-rays of May's neck were negative. It was thought that May might have had a neck injury.

"Stephanie is feeling some pain in her neck and was told to wear a brace for 24 hours," Myers said. "But she was fine otherwise and getting ready to leave the hospital by the time I got there. I had taken the team back to North Carroll and then drove to the hospital."

Myers said that May was originally "seeing three of everything" when she got hurt and was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
