Skins' Wilson to see specialist

October 21, 1992|By Vito Stellino

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Bobby Wilson, who has been hospitalized with a back problem, will see a specialist today to determine how serious his ailment is.

A magnetic resonance imaging determined yesterday that he has what the Redskins said was "disk involvement" that is apparently causing the pain in his back and one leg.

The Redskins won't be sure until he sees the specialist whether Wilson will miss Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

He first came down with the back problem Thursday and missed Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Eric Williams, who came off injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in August, stepped back into the tackle slot. Williams had been the starter until he went out and Wilson replaced him.
