Corrections

October 21, 1992

Because of incorrect information provided by a wire service, The Sun reported erroneously in some editions yesterday that 61 percent of girls who have abortions in states without parental-notification laws tell a parent about the abortion.

The survey for the Alan Guttmacher Institute actually found that 45 percent told a parent and that 61 percent had a parent who learned of the abortion from the daughter or elsewhere.

The Sun regrets the error.
