Woman injured by lawn mower is recuperating

An 81-year-old Baltimore woman who lost several toes and part of her foot under a power lawn mower Friday in Harney was listed in good condition yesterday at St. Joseph Hospital in Towson.

The victim, Margaret Tuer, was transferred to St. Joseph late Friday after initial treatment at Gettysburg Hospital.

Fire officials said the victim was at a home in the 5800 block of Conover Road when she walked across the lawn to talk to a relative who was cutting the grass. The woman approached the running mower in order to hear the relative over the noise and her foot went into the mower's blade, officials said.
