Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction.

New highway projects

U.S. 1 north-- Expect single lane closures from Miller Road to Sheradale Drive for stripping, curb, gutter and drainage work.

I-695 inner and outer loop-- Single and double lanes closures between U.S. 40 and Liberty Road from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. tonight through Thursday night for roadway and bridge reconstruction.

I-95 southbound, Route 100 interchange to Route 32 interchange-- Expect single lane closures until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Also, expect two left lanes to be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday. Two lanes also will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following bus route changes for this week. For information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Route changes

No. 2 -- Effective immediately and permanently, the westbound afternoon/evening express will be changed. Buses will now travel from the eastern terminal via regular route westbound on Fayette Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, south on Martin Luther King, west on Lombard Street to Gilmor Street, then via regular route. The routes and layover points of these lines have been changed permanently.

No. 7 -- Southbound via regular route to Clinton and Boston streets, west on Boston, north on East Avenue to the new layover point and stop adjacent to the Du Burns Soccer Arena. Northbound from layover point on East Avenue, north on East, east on Toone, north on Conkling Street, then via regular route.

No. 13 -- Eastbound via regular route to Boston and Clinton streets, west on Boston, north on East Avenue, north on East, east on Toone Street, north on Clinton, west on Elliott Street, then via regular route.

Temporary routes

No. 20 -- A block party by Bon Secours Hospital Oct. 24, in the 1900 and 2000 blocks of W. Baltimore St. will reroute buses from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Westbound buses will travel the regular route on Baltimore to Monroe Street, then south on Monroe, west on Frederick Avenue, north on Pulaski Street, west on Baltimore, then via the regular route. Eastbound, via the regular route on Baltimore to Pulaski, south on Pulaski, east on Pratt Street, north on Fulton Avenue, east on Baltimore, then back to the regular route.

No. 23 -- Beginning at 11 p.m. Tuesday and continuing until 7 a.m. Wednesday, construction work at the northeast corner of Lombard Street and Highland Avenue will temporarily reroute westbound buses. They will travel the regular route on Lombard to Conkling Street, north on Conkling, west on Baltimore Street, north on Highland, then via the regular route.

Nos. 33, 36 -- The Morgan State University homecoming parade Oct. 24 will reroute buses between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. as follows: The No. 33 will travel westbound via the regular route on Argonne Drive, north on The Alameda, west on Cold Spring Lane, then via regular route. Eastbound, buses will travel the regular route on Cold Spring to The Alameda, then south on The Alameda, east on Argonne to Hillen, then back to the regular route. The No. 36 will travel southbound via regular route on The Alameda to Belvedere Avenue, west on Belvedere, south on York Road, east on Cold Spring, south on The Alameda, then via the regular route. Northbound, buses will travel the regular route on The Alameda to Cold Spring, west on Cold Spring, north on York, east on Belvedere, north on The Alameda, then return to regular route.
