Baltimore City

SHOOTINGS: Northern District -- Three people were wounded, none seriously, when someone fired a handgun in the 2700 block of Greenmount Ave. about 9:20 p.m. Thursday. Shot in the left calf and treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and released was Shontee Douglas, 15, of the 600 block of E. 27th St. Shot in the left leg and treated and released from Union Memorial Hospital was Deborah Carter, 43, of the 2600 block of Boone St. Walter Wise, 52, of the 3300 block of Rogers Ave., was grazed in the left shoulder and refused medical treatment. A heavy sweater Mr. Wise was wearing prevented the bullet from breaking the skin. Police believe none of the victims were the gunman's intended targets. Four men wearing dark clothing were speeding from the scene in a tan or gold-colored car with New York license plates. Police said they have made no arrests and said they knew of no motive for the shootings.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone stole $360 worth of furniture from the front porch of a house in the 2700 block of N. Calvert St. Wednesday morning.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A 19-inch TV and a VCR were stolen Thursday after someone broke into a house in the 700 block of Druid Park Lake Drive by forcing the front door.

THEFT: Northern District -- Two 20-foot sections of copper downspouting were stolen from a house in the 4300 block of St. Paul St. Thursday. The downspouting was valued at $400.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke into a house in the 900 block of Harlem Ave. early Thursday morning and stole a VCR and a purse containing money and personal property, all valued at $840.

THEFT: Western District -- An odometer was stolen from a bus owned by the Eastman bus service in the 2500 block of Woodbrook Ave. Wednesday while the vehicle was parked on the company lot. The value of the odometer was not known.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Two telephones and $100 were stolen from a house in the 500 block of N. Arlington Ave. Thursday after someone entered through a third-floor door.

THEFT: Western District -- A money order made out for $262 was stolen Thursday from a resident of the 3400 block of Oakfield Ave. while she was in the 1900 block of Edmondson Ave.

THEFT: Western District -- A 19-inch TV valued at $150 was stolen from the kitchen table of a house in the 1400 block of W. Lafayette Ave. after two women entered the house Wednesday.

ASSAULT/ARRESTASSAULT/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a woman Thursday and were holding her at the Women's Detention Center at the Central District pending charges of assaulting John Cooper, of the 1900 block of Riggs Ave., with a baseball bat during an argument in the 1000 block of W. Lexington St. Mr. Cooper sustained a broken nose and was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment and released.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of N. Carey St. was in the 1700 block of N. Stricker St. Wednesday night when he was robbed of a gold chain valued at nearly $400 by a gunman.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 900 block of Appleton St. of $260 and a pager in the 1300 block of N. Fulton Ave. early Thursday morning.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 1200 block of N. Charles St. of his $400 necklace Thursday morning in the 1600 block of W. North Ave.

THEFT: Western District -- A 10-speed bike valued at $250 was stolen from the 2200 block of Division St. Thursday morning after its owner, a resident of the 500 block of McKean Ave., left it unattended.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two teen-age boys robbed a resident of the 1100 block of N. Mount St. of her purse Thursday afternoon after assaulting her as she walked down the hallway of a building in the 1500 block of Harlem Ave. The youths escaped with cash and property, all valued at $15.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A briefcase, a 13-inch TV and cash were stolen from a house in the 1700 block of N. Smallwood St. Thursday by someone who entered by forcing a window.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 800 block of W. Lafayette Ave. last week and stole a camera and a VCR. The property was valued at $550.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A 13-year-old boy who implied he was armed with a handgun robbed a teen-age resident of the 600 block of Baker St. of his bike Thursday evening in the 1600 block of Woodyear St. The bike was valued at $100.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at $300 was stolen from a house in the 1100 block of N. Mount St. Wednesday night after someone entered through a rear window. Taken was stereo equipment, a TV and clothing.
