Baltimore City

: Northern District -- Carlos Porcher, of the 900 block of N. Wolfe St., and Tysheen Stewart, an out-of-town resident, were shot and wounded in the 2700 block of Greenmount Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Both were taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where Mr. Porcher was treated for a gunshot wound to the left thigh and Ms. Stewart for a bullet wound to the right side. Police said that they have made no arrest and added that they knew of no motive for the shootings.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Cash and a telephone, all valued at more than $100, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1600 block of Rogers Ave. after someone gained entry by breaking a kitchen window.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- A resident of the 2500 block of Boarman Ave. was assaulted Wednesday afternoon outside the Robert Poole Middle School in the 1300 block of W. 36th St. by a youth who pointed a starter pistol at him. The victim, James McCoy, was leaving the school with his son when he became involved in an argument with several youths. During the argument, one of the youths pulled out a starter pistol and pointed it at Mr. McCoy. Later, one of the youths was arrested. The gun was found near some bushes and was the property of a second youth who retrieved it from his home shortly before the incident. No injuries were reported.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- Alphonso Smith of the 3000 block of Mathews St. was in the 2700 block of Mathews St. late Wednesday night when he was shot by a man he knows during an argument. The gunman escaped, and Mr. Smith was taken to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment of a grazing wound to the side.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 1900 block of Fleet St. Wednesday by forcing the front door and stole a TV valued at $300.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Tools valued at $600 were stolen Wednesday from a Dodge van while it was parked in the 1700 block of E. Monument St. by someone who entered by breaking one of the vehicle's windows.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A man armed with a knife forced his way into a house in the 1500 block of Lester Morton Court Tuesday night when the occupant answer a knock at the door; the assailant stole a 19-inch TV valued at $300 after locking the occupant and a friend in the bathroom.

ASSAULT: Southeastern District -- A man who struck a female resident of the 400 block of N. Collington Ave. with his fists and a baseball bat during an incident at the woman's house Tuesday is being sought. The woman, the man's ex-girlfriend, was not seriously injured.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A man walked into Tretton Opticals in the 3800 block of E. Lombard St. Monday and stole a pair of Gucci eyeglass frames from a display. The property was valued at more than $100.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A car owned by a Pennsylvania resident was broken into Tuesday while parked in the 5300 block of Holabird Ave. by someone who stole a radar detector valued at $130.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A police-fire department scanner valued at more than $200 was stolen Tuesday morning from a car while it was parked in the 3700 block of Fleet St.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A large caliber handgun and $6 in coins were stolen from a car owned by a resident of the 500 block of N. Ellwood Ave. while it was parked Wednesday in the 1200 block of Young Court. Total value of the property was $756.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Tools valued at more than $600 were stolen Wednesday from a garage in the 3900 block of Southern Ave. by three teen-age boys seen fleeing the scene.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 29-year-old resident of the 5800 block of Arizona Ave. was robbed of $60 Wednesday morning in the 1600 block of Woodbourne Ave. by two men, one armed with a handgun.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man robbed a resident of the 4600 block of Roland Ave. of her multispeed bike Wednesday afternoon while she was riding it in the 1400 block of E. Belvedere Ave. The woman gave up the bike, valued at $900, when the man threatened to shoot her. No gun was revealed during the robbery.

THEFT/ARRESTS: Northeastern District -- Police arrested three teen-age boys Wednesday and charged each with entering a back yard in the 6000 block of Eunice Ave. and stealing a pellet gun.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 32-year-old resident of the 4000 block of Echodale Ave. was seated in his car and stopped at a red light in the 4600 block of Belair Road Wednesday night when he was approached by a man who ordered him to give up his money. The man escaped with nearly $40.
