Md. Midland Railroad re-elects three directors

Maryland Midland Railroad stockholders have re-elected Thomas J. Llewelyn, James E. Stewart and C. M. Whalen to the board of directors for three-year terms.

Mr. Llewelyn is the director of purchasing and transportation for the Lehigh Portland Cement Co., and Mr. Stewart is a radiologist practicing in Frederick and Prince George's counties.

Mr. Whalen is chairman and president of Investment Properties Inc., chairman of Congressional Motors and Whalen Motors.

Certified in geriatric medicine

Dr. Ellis Mez, Owings Mills resident and active staff physician at Baltimore County General Hospital, recently became board certified in the practice of geriatric medicine.

He received his bachelor's degree in 1973 from Franklin & Marshall College and earned his M.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1977. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Maryland General Hospital.

He is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Carroll County Medical Society and the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland. He has been an attending physician since 1980 at Fairhaven, a continuing-care community in Sykesville.

C. Alan Jefferson heads bank branch

C. Alan Jefferson, assistant vice president of Taneytown Bank & Trust Company, has been appointed manager of the bank's new Howard County branch.

Mr. Jefferson formerly was an officer of the First American Bank and also the Columbia Bank & Trust Company.

A resident of Columbia since 1967, he lives there with his wife, Mary, and daughter, Amanda.
