Police arrest two, recover drugs in raid on house

Westminster police arrested two people and recovered $1,500 worth of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana after raiding a house in the 700 block of Johahn Drive late Tuesday night, said Lt. Dean A. Brewer.

Police arrested Antonio Lorenzo Gonzalez, 33, of the Johahn Drive address, and his companion, Ellen Marie Franklin, 35, of the 15400 block of Frederick Road in Woodbine.

Lieutenant Brewer said both were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and with possession of cocaine, marijuana and paraphernalia. An additional charge of maintaining a common nuisance was placed against Mr. Gonzalez.

Ms. Franklin was held on $15,000 bail, while the bail for Mr. Gonzalez was set at $25,000.

Police said a cutting agent and materials for weighing and packaging drugs were also seized.

Gospel singer Miller to perform at church

Lemuel Miller, a gospel singer who was formerly with the New Gaither Vocal Band and is currently host of "The Miller Brothers Show," will appear Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Westminster Church of God, Route 27 and Lucabaugh Mill Road.

Mr. Miller's show is presented weekly on the Christian Television Network. An ordained minister, he has traveled as a missionary evangelist to Japan, China, Korea, India, Europe and Alaska.

A holder of a fifth-degree black belt in karate, he founded the Christian Karate Association. He also has recorded five albums and is an accomplished songwriter.

POLICE

* Chapel Heights: A Kenmore microwave oven was stolen from a house on Chapel Road after entry was gained through a basement window on Oct. 3, state police reported.

* Westminster: The office and barn of Rockland Farms on Rockland Road was broken into and thieves made off with a Ford pickup truck and a Chevrolet Beretta, state police reported. Also stolen were eight saddles, four bridles, a Remington 22/250 rifle, a Remington 222 rifle, a Remington 16-gauge shotgun, a Browning 12-gauge shotgun and a crossbow. The theft occurred on Oct. 7.

* A television, VCR and a camcorder were taken from a house on Hughes Shop Road Oct. 7, state police reported.

* Electronic equipment including a CD player, a VCR and several TV games were taken from a house on Manchester Road after entry was gained through a kitchen window on Oct. 8, state police reported.
