Chamber volunteers to be honored tonight

Volunteers who have helped organize and run events for the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will be honored at a reception in Harmans this evening.

Ceremonies at the Harmans Complex will recognize the contributions of all chamber volunteers, said Marcia Hall, chamber executive director. Ms. Hall said the evening will also include presentation of the second annual President's Award, with plaques going to two members: Nina Hendrix, assistant vice president of Citizen National Bank; and Judy Smiechowski, president of Odenton Federal Savings & Loan.

Ms. Hendrix, who has been on the chamber board of directors since 1985, has helped organize chamber dinners, register guests at events and sold tickets to events and raffles.

Ms. Smiechowski, a member of the chamber board since 1989, also helps with registration at events and has sold tickets to the annual bull and oyster roast.
