Teen Center gets new director and supervisor

Rene Buckmon and Linda Landis have been appointed to new positions with the Columbia Association's Teen Center.

Ms. Buckmon has been appointed Teen Center director, replacing Mindy Orenstein, who has accepted a position with the county school board.

Ms. Buckmon previously served as the supervisor of programming for the Teen Center.

She also worked for the Columbia Association's before- and after-school care program.

Ms. Buckmon, who has a degree in recreation from the University of Maryland, began her career with the Department of Recreation in Gaithersburg.

Before joining the Columbia Association, Ms. Landis was director of a Youth Services Center in Schwaebisch, Germany, which served the children of the 1,400 U.S. military families stationed there.
