Chesapeake dance group offers instruction program
The Chesapeake Dance Theatre Inc. offers programs for people of all ages who are interested in learning to dance.
Their newest courses include an adult modern and ballet group, which will meet at the Shady Side Elementary School every Thursday between 7 and 8 p.m., beginning Oct. 15. The students will learn to stretch and to work with alignment or movement combinations.
There will also be improvisation techniques to increase energy and improve body and mind centering. The cost is a $15 annual membership fee and $26 monthly tuition.
In addition, a two-hour weekly workshop for advanced adults and a one-hour session for the beginning to intermediate dancer are being offered every Thursday later this fall.
The advanced course will provide a core company to rehearse repertory and lecture demonstration pieces for the coming year. And the intermediate class will give a performance at Anne Arundel Community College on March 15, 1993.
