'Lively Arts' for children returns to Oakland Mills

Lively Arts for Little Ones, a series of live performances for preschool children and their chaperons, is returning to the Other Barn at the Oakland Mills Village Center with seven shows between now and April.

Ken Kaplan, a musical storyteller, opens the Lively Arts season with performances Friday at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Season tickets for all seven monthly shows are $22. Individual tickets, when available, are $3.50.

* Owen Brown: 7000 block of Knighthood Lane: Between Friday and Saturday, someone smashed the rear window of a vehicle and stole a $400 AM-FM cassette player, a $400 disc player, $150 Bausch and Lomb sunglasses and $240 worth of various compact discs.

* Oakland Mills: 9400 block of Farewell Road: Between Friday and Saturday, someone stole four gray wheel covers valued at $20 from a 1990 Volkswagen Fox.

* Oakland Mills Road and Santiago Road: Someone stole a $30 white purse containing several charge cards and a checkbook from a 1990 Chrysler New Yorker Saturday. The window had been left down.

* 9400 block of Kilimanjaro Road: A suspicious man was seen in the girls' locker room at Oakland Mills High School Friday.
