FIREARM INJURY: Southeastern District -- John Woodson, 37, of the 600 block of N. Glover St., was injured Saturday afternoon when a zip gun (a homemade handgun) exploded when he pulled the trigger. The discharge injured his right hand and lacerated his right hip. Mr. Woodson was listed in good condition at the Raymond Curtis Hand Center at Union Memorial Hospital. Criminal charges were pending.

CAB HOLDUP/CUTTING: Western District -- James Moore, a 72-year-old cab driver, was treated at Bon Secours Hospital Saturday after he was cut on the chest, hands and right side by a man who robbed him of $15. Mr. Moore was driving in the 2400 block of W. Lexington St. around 5 a.m. Saturday when a passenger pulled out a knife and demanded his money.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone broke into the Edgewood Market in the 3300 block of Edgewood Road yesterday morning by removing a metal grate from a window and stole cash, food, cigarettes and several pieces of costume jewelry.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northwestern District -- A 37-year-old resident of the 2800 block of Boarman Ave. was arrested yesterday morning and was being held at the station pending charges that he broke his 28-year-old brother's right arm with a baseball bat. The victim was treated at Sinai Hospital.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A woman walking in the 3500 block of Spaulding Ave. about 8 p.m. yesterday fought off a man who knocked her down and tried to steal her purse. The man fled. The victim was treated at Sinai Hospital for cuts and bruises of the arms and legs.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Pickering Drive was treated at Sinai Hospital Sunday night and released following treatment for injuries received when he was struck by a car in the 3000 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Gary Davis was struck by a car around 7 p.m. that was driven by a man who attempted to run him down. The motorist drove off and is being sought.

AUTO THEFT: Northwestern District -- A 1989 Hyundai with license plates WME-921 was stolen between Saturday night and Sunday morning from the 2700 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway. The car was recovered Sunday afternoon in Baltimore County and returned to its owner, a resident of the 2700 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway.

AUTO THEFT: Northwestern District -- Someone stole a 1985 Cadillac from the 3600 block of Grantley Road Sunday morning. The car, with license plates are NYE-742, had not been recovered.

RAPE/ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A 26-year-old man is being sought in connection with the rape of a woman in Druid Hill Park early Sunday morning. The woman was in the 3200 block of Reisterstown Road when a gunman forced her into his car and drove to an isolated spot. After raping the woman and robbing her of property, the man drove the woman back to the 3200 block of Reisterstown Road and drove off. The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment and released.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A Forest Glen Ave. couple was robbed $400 and two gold rings valued at $2,600 near their home by a man who assaulted them about 2 a.m. Sunday.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 4700 block of Park Heights Ave. of his wallet containing $102 Saturday night while the victim was walking a block from his home.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men assaulted a resident of the 500 block of Lucia Ave. of $250 Sunday afternoon as he walked in the 3500 block of Hayward Ave.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman stopped a resident of the 4900 block of Denmore Ave. Sunday afternoon as he walked in the 3200 block of Garrison Ave. and robbed him of $10.

THEFT/ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a 30-year-old man Sunday night and were holding him pending charges that he broke into two cars parked in the 3200 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway. Both cars belonged to a New York City couple. After breaking into one car and stealing a metal box containing tools, the man used one of the tools to break into the second car, which was parked behind the first one. From the second car, the man stole clothing and was attempting to flee when he was arrested.

THEFT: Northwestern District -- A woman is being sought following the theft of $481 from a bedroom dresser drawer at a house in the 3900 block of Fordleigh Road Sunday afternoon.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 1400 block of N. Rosedale St. was in the 1900 block of N. Ellamont St. Saturday afternoon when he was robbed of $141 by a man armed with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The gunman, who was wearing a Los Angeles Raiders jacket, escaped.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3100 block of Presbury St. over a period of time and stole jewelry and clothing, all valued at $445.
