Here's what to look for if you are traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction.

New highway projects

U.S. 1 north -- Expect single lane closures from Miller Road to Sheradale Drive for stripping, curb, gutter and drainage work. Miller Road is expected to reopen Oct. 10.

I-695 Inner and Outer Loop -- Single and double lane closurefrom 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night between U.S. 40 and Liberty Road for roadway and bridge reconstruction.

U.S. 50 from Old Bradley Road to Barren Creek Bridge (Wicomico County) -- Because of resurfacing of the roadway, single lane closures will occur during off-peak hours. Project should be completed by late fall 1992.

I-95 northbound, Route 100 interchange to Vollmerhausen Road overpass -- Expect reduction to two lanes from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for concrete patching. Also expect single lane closures weekdays from 5 a.m. Monday to noon Friday for patching.

I-95 Southbound, Route 100 Interchange to Route 32 Interchange -- Expect reduction to two lanes from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for concrete patching. Also, single lane closures from 5 a.m. Monday until noon Friday for blacktop paving. Additionally, I-95 will be reduced to two lanes Mondays through Thursdays between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for blacktopping.

Rossback Road (Anne Arundel County) -- Beginning Monday, Rossback Road from Davidsonville Road to a point 300 feet east of Davidsonville Road will be closed for six weeks while an intersection is reconstructed.

Bus route changes:

The MTA has scheduled the following bus route changes for this week. For information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Parade rerouting

The Baltimore City Fire Department parade at 2 p.m. today will necessitate the following temporary northbound route:

No. 19 -- Northbound via regular route on Harford Road to Hillen Road, then north and west on Hillen, east on Argonne Drive, east on Parkside Drive, north on Walther Boulevard, west on Echodale Avenue, north on Harford Road, then via regular route. No change southbound.

No. 22 -- Eastbound via regular route on Harford Road to Hillen Road, then north and west on Hillen, east on 33rd Street, south and east on 32nd Street, east on Parkside Drive, east and south on Erdman Avenue, then via regular route. No change westbound.

Temporary rerouting

No. 31 (Leeds Avenue service) -- Effective tomorrow between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and continuing until further notice, Leeds Avenue will closed between Wilkens Avenue and Southwestern Boulevard for construction work.

Westbound buses will travel regular route to Wilkens and Leeds avenues, west on Wilkens Avenue, south on Beechfield Avenue, west on Leeds Avenue, then via regular route.

Eastbound buses will travel regular route to Leeds and Beechfield avenues, then north on Beechfield, east on Wilkens to Leeds Avenue, then via regular route.

Return to regular route

Nos. 14, 63, 64, 220 -- Effective tomorrow, these bus lines will return to the regular route. Hanover Street Bridge construction work has been completed.
