Baltimore's acquired some coffeehouses

Here's a list, with locations, hours and some of the amenities for some of Baltimore's new coffeehouses:

Open now:

* Cafe Montage, 10 E. Preston St. Coffee, coffee beverages, tea, pastries and light fare. Poetry readings on Wednesdays; art displays change monthly. Hours: 3 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday; 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Proprietor: Linda Richardson.

* Coffee Cafe, Drumcastle Market, 6303 York Road. Coffee, coffee beverages, pastries and cakes, coffee roasted and ground to order. Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Proprietors: Peter and Brooks Nobel.

* Java Blues, 243 W. Read St. Coffee, coffee beverages, breads, rolls, pastries, light fare, including salads and quiche. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Proprietors: Ed and Vini Meyers.

* Nordstrom Espresso Bar, 1st level outside Nordstrom Rack, Towson Town Center. Coffee, flavored coffee, coffee beverages, hot chocolate, Italian sodas, apple cider, "big" cookies, muffins, biscotti, scones, bagels, cheesecake. Hours: 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Manager: David Ortiz.

* The Corner Coffeehouse, 31 S. Arlington St. at Hollins. Coffee, coffee beverages, pastries. Poetry, books and games; art display changes monthly. Hours: 6 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Thursday; 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday; and 9 a.m. to midnight on Sunday. Proprietor: Joe Gorman.

* The Daily Grind, 1726 Thames St. Coffee, coffee beverages, Italian sodas, tea and spa waters, pastries. Games. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday. Proprietors: David and Michael Key.

Opening in November:

* Donna's Coffee Cafe, 2 W. Madison St. at Charles. Coffee, coffee beverages, lunch fare, biscotti and pastries. Displays of art, in conjunction with Nye Gomez Gallery, will change monthly. Tentative hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Proprietors: Donna Crivello and Alan Hirsch.

* Vanguard Cafe, 405 N. Charles St. Coffee, coffee beverages, cordials and wine; light fare for lunch and dinner, desserts and pastries. Displays of art, available for purchase, will change monthly. Tentative hours: 10 a.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Proprietors: Nancy Smanko, Krista Apitz and Peter Huebeck.
