The Rev. W. Stephen Neel, pastor of South Columbia Baptist Church, invites the public to the congregation's open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at their new church, 8814 Guilford Road, Kings Contrivance.

Displays describing the activities of various church groups will be spread through the building. Free refreshments will be served.

Sunday activities will include Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and general services at 11 a.m.

South Columbia Baptist dedicated its $1.2 million, 11,4000 square-foot facility Sept. 13 after meeting at Hammond Senior High School for 11 years. Built to expand as membership grows, the octagon-shaped main sanctuary is surrounded by classrooms. The church has a fellowship wing on its 10-acre site.

One activity that is expanding rapidly is the church's AWANA Children's Program which has grown 50 percent in the past year. Featuring music, games and bible memory time, AWANA is open to church members and non-members from age three through fifth graders.
