Welkos becomes principal in firm

Kathy Welkos, a certified public accountant, has become a principal in Business Partners Inc., a computer software consulting firm with offices in Ellicott City and Glen Burnie.

Ms. Welkos and her associates, Daniel C. Conkling, a CPA, and Barbara Terry, are authorized dealers for Computer Associates software and installers for the ACCPAC BPI accounting software package.

Fuel Fund directors named

County Executive Charles I. Ecker and the Community Action Council of Howard County have announced that the following people have been named to the Board of Directors for the Howard County Fuel Fund:

Eileen Ehrensberger, Columbia; Linda Adams, Ellicott City; Haskel Arnold, Columbia; Deborah Bowie, Ellicott City; Thomas Briscoe, Columbia; Barbara Chase, Columbia; Jo Glasco, Columbia; Deborah Stevens, Columbia and Michael Warshaw, Columbia.

Beebe opens practice in Columbia

Attorney Richard W. Beebe has opened a law office at 1000 Century Plaza in Columbia.

He will concentrate on family, employment and business law along with negligence and mediation.

Thulman Eastern names new managers

Thulman Eastern Corp. of Elkridge announced that Barry Howell has been appointed to masonry products manager and Ron Weinel was promoted to service manager for the Baltimore/Washington division.

Mr. Howell has been with Thulman Eastern for more than 10 years as a sales representative and an operations manager for the Baltimore/Washington division.

Mr. Weinel has worked for the company for almost eight years. His responsibilities will include homeowner service and technical/sales support.

Tollen appointed to hospitality group

Kayla Tollen of Kayla Advertising, a Columbia-based advertising business, has been appointed to the hospitality committee of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives.

Staddon is president of ACS chapter

Kari L. Staddon of Columbia has been elected president of the Howard County unit of the American Cancer Society for its 1993 fiscal year.

Ms. Staddon is an assistant vice president of commercial banking for First National Bank of Maryland.

Taylor becomes controller

Jonathan A. Taylor, CPA, has joined Orchard Development Corporation and Arminger Management of Columbia as controller.

Mr. Taylor is a 1975 graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and resides in Burke, Va.

Orchard Development Corp. and Armiger Management is a partnership that develops and manages residential and apartment communities.
