Bronze vases stolen from cemetery

Howard County police are investigating the theft of $5,700 worth of bronze flower vases from Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge.

The vases were reported stolen Friday from gravesites at the cemetery, in the 7200 block of Washington Boulevard, police said.

Les Lowther, general manager of the 50-year-old cemetery, said stealing hasn't been a problem at Meadowridge. He said he believes thieves stole the bronze vases to sell as scrap metal.
