September 30, 1992

Loyola and the College of Notre Dame, next-door neighbors on Charles Street, met in an athletics contest for the first time in eight years yesterday, as the Greyhounds' women's soccer team posted a 3-0 victory over the Gators.

The two colleges hadn't met since 1984, in a tennis match.

Erika Mawhorr, a junior from Severna Park, had two goals, and Amy Fabrizio, a senior from Chevy Chase, had a goal and an assist for Division I Loyola, which improved to 5-2.

Notre Dame, one of the region's best Division III teams, fell to 5-2-1.
