Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Eastern District -- Andrew Brown, 29, of the 900 block of E. 41st St. is listed in critical but stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the head Tuesday night in the alley behind the 300 block of E. 21st St. Mr. Brown told police he heard a gunshot at 6 p.m. and then felt a pain in the side of his head. Police found him sitting in the vestibule of a building at 336 E. 21st St. bleeding from a bullet wound. No arrest was made and police had no motive for the shooting.

CARJACKING: Southeastern District -- Three men, one with a pistol, stole a 1984 Buick after forcing its 26-year-old owner from the car while the Rosedale resident was stopped at a traffic light at Dundalk Avenue and O'Donnell Street at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday.

ARREST: Southwestern District -- Delray Matthews, 26, of the 2000 block of Penrose Ave., was arrested early Wednesday morning near his home and charged with theft of a red 1992 Ford Mustang reported stolen in New York City on Sept. 25. Officer Schuyler Denham said the car was involved in an accident in the 900 block of Franklintown Road Sunday and that its operator gave the other motorist incorrect information about his identity. The car's license plates, he said, were stolen from a vehicle in the 2700 block of W. Lafayette Ave. While looking for the stolen Mustang, Officer Denham spotted it in the 1300 block of Bloomingdale Road at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday and arrested the suspect. Mr. Matthews was to appear at a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 5100 block of Frederick Ave. of $250 Sept. 26 while the victim walked near his home. The robbery was reported Tuesday.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Lawn furniture valued at $100 was stolen Tuesday from the front yard of a house in the 3200 block of Westmont Ave.

THEFT: Central District -- A mountain bike valued at $450 was stolen from the hallway of a house in the 1200 block of Bolton St. over the weekend.

THEFT: Central District -- A watch valued at $150 and owned by a New York City policeman was stolen from his room at the New Howard Hotel in the first block of N. Howard St. Monday.

THEFT: Central District -- A 2-way radio valued at $2,250 was stolen from a truck owned by the Bon Construction Co. in the 100 block of N. Hanover St. that was parked in the 700 block of Ploy St. Monday. Entry was by breaking the driver's side window.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A 32-year-old man was robbed of $10 Monday night by a man who sprayed him with a fire extinguisher in the 200 block of N. Eutaw St. The money was recovered and a suspect was arrested.

THEFT FROM AUTO: Central District -- Clothing, glasses and a shoulder bag, all valued at $575, were stolen Monday from a car parked in the first block of E. Chase St. after someone broke a window.

THEFT/ARRESTS: Central District -- AlandiosJones, 39, of the 2300 block of Edgecombe Circle North, and Rennie Johnson, 32, of the 1600 block of Poplar Grove St., were arrested Monday night and charged with breaking into a car in the first block of W. Hamilton St. and stealing a stereo amplifier valued at $450.

THEFT: Central District -- A radar detector and several cassette tapes, all valued at $450, were stolen from a car parked in the 2100 block of Park Ave.

THEFT: Central District -- A lap-top computer and other electronic equipment valued at nearly $5,000 were stolen over the weekend from a C&P Telephone Co. truck parked in the 1900 block of Madison Ave.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone opened the locker of a student at the Peabody Institute and stole a clarinet, two packages of clarinet reeds, and other parts to musical instruments, all valued at more than $2,000.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A 21-inch TV and several hand and power tools, all valued at $600, were stolen Tuesday from a home in the 2000 block of St. Paul St. by someone who opened an unlocked door.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 600 block of George St. of $420 Tuesday afternoon while the victim was walking in the 600 block of Pitcher St.

THEFT: Central District -- A tape deck and head phones, all valued at nearly $500, were stolen from an office at 1 W. Pratt St. over a period of several days.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into a house in the 1400 block of Eutaw Place Tuesday and stole a VCR and TV remote control device, all valued at $374.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men attacked a 73-year-old resident of the 1900 block of Hillenwood Road Tuesday afternoon while he removed items from his car near his home and robbed him of cash and property, all valued at $200.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a city fire department station in the 6500 block of Harford Road Tuesday by opening a side window and stole a VCR valued at $250.
