A three-on-three basketball tournament and a golf tournament have been scheduled at Western Maryland College for October with proceeds to benefit the Green Terrors' men's basketball and golf teams.

The basketball tournament is set for Oct. 10 at the Gill Physical Education Learning Center, beginning at 10 a.m.

Entries for the double-elimination event will be accepted until Oct. 4 in the following divisions: over-35 men's, unlimited men's (over age 18, team members playing for an NCAA institution prohibited), boys high school varsity, boys high school junior varsity, boys middle school, girls high school varsity and girls high school junior varsity.

A minimum of eight registered teams is required for competition in a division.

The entry fee is $40 per team, with a maximum of four players per squad and with no player appearing on more than one roster.

There will be cash prizes for the over-35 and unlimited divisions, and non-cash awards for the high school and middle school sections.

The third annual Western Maryland College Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament, with a four-player team scramble format, will be Oct. 11 at the college course.

Tee times will be from 10 a.m. to noon, with each group being notified of its starting time one week prior to the event.

In addition to the team prize, awards will be given to the player with the longest drive and tee shot closest to the pin on selected holes.

The entry fee of $50 per player, accepted until Oct. 1, includes greens fee, riding cart and post-tournament buffet.
