The Gambrills Odenton Recreation Council's annual Golf Tournament and Bull Roast is planned for Oct. 19 at the Walsen Golf Club in Crofton. A putting contest will start at 9 a.m. and the tournament tee-off is at 10 a.m.
The bull roast is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Jim's Hideaway in Odenton. The menu will include open pit beef, ham and sausage, barbecue beans, french fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, potato salad, cheese and vegetable trays.
Tickets are $70 per person, and proceeds will benefit GORC's youth programs. Golfers can register at Arundel Sports & T's at the Odenton Shopping Center, 674-6735. The registration deadline is Thursday.

West Meade Elementary School, 7000 Ray St. in Fort Meade, is sponsoring a Fall Carnival from 10 a.m to 2 p.m., Oct. 17, at the school. Members of the Fort Meade community are invited to attend. The carnival features a Moon Bounce from Allied Amusements, a cake walk, carnival games, McGruff the crime prevention dog, cotton candy, popcorn and an origami booth.
The carnival is designed for children, ages 12 and under, but everyone is invited. Tickets are available at the gate.
