Baltimore City

RAPE: Central District -- A man raped an 18-year-old student in her Peabody Institute dormitory room in the 600 block of St. Paul St. about 4:30 p.m. yesterday. The victim was assaulted by a man she knew.

CUTTING: Northeastern District -- A man broke into a house in the 1800 block of E. 29th St. early yesterday morning and cut a woman on the leg with a knife when she struggled with him after surprising him in a room. The victim, a 32-year-old woman, was cut on the left leg with a knife but was not seriously injured. Police said entry was gained through a basement window and that it was known if any property was taken.

CARJACKING: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Northgate Road was robbed of her car yesterday evening at gunpoint while getting gas at a service station in the 1200 block of E. Cold Spring Lane. After the woman put fuel in her 1989 Toyota and was about to get into the vehicle, she was approached by a gunman who ordered her to give up her keys. The woman did and the man drove off in the car, which contained her purse.

SHOOTING: Northern District -- Someone in the car fired at least five shots at two men as they walked in the 5500 block of Lothian Road around 1:30 a.m. yesterday. A car drove by, stopped, returned and the shots were fired. Neither man was hit and police had no motive for the incident.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed the Merit gas station in the 6700 block of Pulaski Highway around 11 p.m. yesterday of an undisclosed sum of money. The gunman and his accomplice escaped in a station wagon with wood-grain paneling.

ARMED ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the first block of Comet Court in Baltimore County was walking in the 1500 block of E. Northern Parkway around 7 p.m. Sunday when he was stopped by a man who asked him for change of a $20 bill. When the victim reached into his pocket to get his wallet, the man pulled out a handgun and robbed him of $70.

THEFT: Northern District -- Jewelry valued at nearly $2,000 was stolen from a home in the 300 block of E. Belvedere Ave. last week by a woman after she gave the male victim a ride home. The theft, reported over the weekend, occurred about 2 a.m. Sept. 20.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 6000 block of Ready Ave. over the weekend through an unlocked kitchen window and stole a wedding ring and an engagement wing, all valued at nearly $800.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A VCR valued at $200 was stolen from a house in the 3000 block of N. Charles St. early yesterday morning after someone entered through a window.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 900 block of Exeter Hall Ave. over the weekend and stole a VCR valued at $350.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A VCR and a 13-inch TV valued at nearly $300 were stolen from a house in the 2600 block of Greenmount Ave. after someone entered by force.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A bank bag containing $150 was stolen after a man broke into a house in the 600 block of Nicole Ave. yesterday morning through a second-floor window.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Several pieces of jewelry and a VCR were stolen from a house in the 2600 block of N. Calvert St. over the weekend after someone entered through a kitchen door.

THEFT: Western District -- The purse and a wallet containing $10 belonging to an out-of-town woman were stolen from her car as she stood outside it about 10 p.m. Saturday while an auto accident she had been involved in was being investigated.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone broke into a house in the 1900 block of W. Saratoga St.early yesterday morning through a rear window and stole a TV and a telephone.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: A Penrose Avenue resident was attacked by several men, one with a pistol, in the 200 block of Bruce St. about 8 p.m. Saturday. Nothing was taken and the victim declined medical treatment.

AUTO THEFT: Western District -- Someone stole a Virginia man's parked 1990 Chevrolet truck bearing vanity license plates SEEYAA in the 2500 block of Woodbrook Ave. over the weekend.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1600 block of Harlem Ave. was walking in the 900 block of Vine St. Saturday night when he was attacked from behind by two men who shoved him against the wall of a building and robbed him of $4.

THEFT: Western District -- Property valued at nearly $80 was stolen from a resident of the 1100 block of N. Stockton St. yesterday morning by someone who was visiting her. Taken was a cigarette case, jewelry and personal ID.

THEFT FROM AUTO: Western District -- Someone broke into a car owned by a resident of the 300 block of W. Lorraine Ave. between Sept. 14 and yesterday while it was parked in the 2700 block of Walbrook Ave. and stole a stereo radio, speakers and an amplifier. The property was valued at $600.
