Harford libraries complete busy year

The Harford County Library has completed a busy year of service to citizens and closed the books on the 1992 fiscal year.

Operating budget expenditures by the library in fiscal year 1992 totaled $4,584,000.

A total of 2,389,921 books and audiovisual materials were borrowed by patrons.

Had Harford residents bought those same books at an average cost of $15 each, they would have paid some $35,848,825, a library news release said.

Additionally, 49,448 people attended county library programs. And librarians answered 258,338 reference questions.
