August J. Brozik, attorney at law
A Mass of Christian burial will be held for August J. Brozik, 81, an attorney, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. Athanasius Church, 4708 Prudence St., Baltimore.
He died at his home on Sept. 22, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Brozik, a resident of Brooklyn Park for 50 years, earned his law degree at the University of Baltimore in 1931.
He belonged to St. Athanasius Church, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the American Legion, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge in Annapolis.
He is survived by one daughter; Gloria Barnstore of Brooklyn Park; and two brothers James S. Brozik Sr. of Rosedale and Joseph F. Brozik of Glen Burnie.
Mildred E. Shaffer, Odenton resident
Services for Mildred E. Shaffer, 62, will be held 11 a.m, Sept. 26, at the Kirkley Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Highway, S.E, Glen Burnie.
A lifelong resident of Odenton, Mrs. Shaffer died suddenly on Sept. 23 of an apparent heart attack at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
As a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening and working on various community activities, especially Odenton beautification efforts.
She belonged to the Ladies of the Elks #2266, in Glen Burnie, and the Severn United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Shaffer of Odenton; a son, Larry G. Holston of Ferndale; a daughter, Shari L. Allen of Stockton, Calif.; and a sister, Vivian Kirkpatrick of Lone Tree, Iowa.
