Baltimore City

STABBING: Central District -- A resident of the 400 block of E. 28th St. was stabbed in the back Wednesday night while walking in the 100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard. Deandre Daniels, 18, told police he was walking down the street about 9 p.m. when a man grabbed him around the neck. During a struggle, the man stabbed Mr. Daniels in the upper back with a knife and then fled. Mr. Daniels walked to nearby University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police said the incident may have been an attempted armed robbery.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A cashier at Central Parking in the first block of St. Paul St. was on her way to make a night deposit at the nearby Signet Bank at 8 p.m. yesterday when a man approached and demanded she give up her purse. When the woman pulled her purse to her side, the man grabbed her around the arm and shoved her against the wall of a building. He then stole the purse and fled, running east on West Baltimore St. The purse contained cash and property, all valued at nearly $500.

ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police arrested a man and charged him with burglary and aggravated assault after he attempted to break into an apartment at the public high-rise building in the 100 block of Colvin St. by breaking a window with a golf club. Officer Darin Cover heard glass breaking at a first-floor apartment and arrested David Crudup, 27, whose address was not available. When the glass shattered, it cut the occupant, Corrine Austin on the legs. She was not seriously injured. No property was stolen from the apartment.

ASSAULT: Southeastern District -- A man was arrested yesterday morning after he broke into an apartment in the 300 block of Herring Court and assaulted his ex-wife. Shirley Chappel was home at 4:30 a.m. when her ex-husband broke into the apartment through a bedroom window and struck her in the face while threatening her with a knife. Before police arrived, the man broke several pieces of furniture, a TV and a stereo. Andre Chappel, 34, whose address was not available, was charged with assault and burglary.

CHURCH BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- Someone broke into the Bethany Lutheran Church in the 700 block of N. Lakewood Ave. Wednesday evening by breaking a side window and stole a typewriter, answering machine, cassette recorder, and several packages of disposable diapers, all valued at nearly $400.

THEFT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- Police arrested a 34-year-old man yesterday and were holding him at the station pending theft charges after he broke into a 1987 Toyota 4x4 in the 700 block of S. Wolfe St. and stole property valued at $13. The property was recovered when police arrested the man near the scene.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 700 block of N. Luzerne Ave. was robbed of her purse yesterday evening while walking in the 2400 block of Fleet St. by a man who approached her from the rear and knocked her to the ground. The man escaped with cash and property, all valued at $25.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Five men were robbed of their money by a gunman Wednesday night in the 2900 block of Remington Ave. The victims were standing together about 11:15 p.m. when a man armed with a silver-plated handgun approached and demanded their money. A total of $173 was taken from the victims, all residents of North Charles Street or St. Paul St.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 4200 block of Pall Mall Road yesterday by breaking a window. Property valued at more than $2,600 was stolen. Later, police arrested a suspect in the case and were holding him at the station pending charges.

THEFT: Northern District -- Property valued at more than $500 was taken from a car yesterday while it was parked in the 1000 block of St. George's Road after someone broke a window. A compact disc player and other property were stolen.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police were seeking at least two men who abducted a resident of the 2700 block of Barclay St. early yesterday from the 2700 block of Greenmount Ave.and robbed him of $17 while driving him around the Waverly area for nearly an hour before releasing him.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke into a house in the 800 block of Gilrubin Court yesterday by breaking a bedroom window. Cash and stereo equipment valued at more than $700 '' were taken.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Two people, a resident of the 800 block of Benninghaus Road and a resident of the 1500 block of Gleneagle Road, were in the 1100 block of E. Belvedere Ave. Wednesday night when they were robbed of their cash and valuables, all worth more than $400, by two men, one armed with a handgun.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A deliveryman for Domino's pizza in the 2700 block of Remington Ave. was robbed of $53 about 8 p.m. by a gunman in the 4000 block of Roland Ave.
