Murder suspect is held without bail

September 23, 1992

A Dundalk man was ordered held without bail yesterday on charges that he murdered a 44-year-old woman whose husband found her fatally stabbed in their Dundalk living room during an apparent burglary attempt last month, Baltimore County police said. Also charged with an unrelated robbery was David Wayne Couch, 26, of the 200 block of St. Helena Ave.

Patricia Jane Kaczynski, of the first block of Liberty Parkway, was found dead from stab wounds in the neck about 8 a.m. Aug. 29. Police said intruders broke a kitchen window pane and ransacked the home.

Further charges against Mr. Couch are awaiting grand jury action, police said, and an investigation of a second suspect in the homicide is continuing. The arrest was made Sept. 18, based upon information provided by the victim's neighbors.

Mrs. Kaczynski's husband, Theodore, 50, told police at the time that he was asleep in second-story bedroom during the killing and heard nothing, but discovered the body in the living room when he awoke.
