Baltimore City

SHOOTING: Western District -- Keith Massenberg, of the 4500 block of Fairfax Road, is listed in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the right side around 7:20 p.m. yesterday by a gunman in the 2500 block of Lauretta Ave.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 900 block of E. Chase was shot twice by a gunman yesterday afternoon during an incident in the 100 block of N. Carrollton Ave. The victim, Tyrice Waters, was shot in the right shoulder and ankle and was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center, where he was admitted. His condition was listed as fair.

SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- Nathaniel Preston, of the 5100 block of Pembridge Ave., was shot during a robbery in an alley near his home early yesterday and was treated at Sinai Hospital and released. Mr. Preston was walking in the alley at 2 a.m. when a gunman robbed him of $50. Before the gunman escaped, he shot Mr. Preston in the right thigh.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2000 block of E. North Ave. was treated at Union Memorial Hospital for a minor head wound and released after being shot yesterday evening during an argument with two men in the 1600 block of Abbotston St. The victim was arguing with the men about 7 p.m. when one of them pulled out a handgun and shot him. Both men escaped.

CUTTING/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested Charles Savage, of the 2200 block of Roslyn Ave., yesterday afternoon and charged him with assault by cutting Theodore Duff, of the same address, during an altercation at their home. Mr. Duff was not seriously injured. The accused was being held at the police station in lieu of $15,000 bail pending a bail review hearing today in District Court.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A gunman robbed a resident of the 3000 block of Hilton St. of $40 after he cashed a check at a store in the 1500 block of Retreat St. Saturday night.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 4000 block of Cottage Ave. in northwest Baltimore was robbed of her cash and jewelry, all valued at nearly $1,900, while she was inside a restaurant in the 1700 block of W. North Ave. early yesterday morning by two men who implied they were armed with handguns.

ROBBERY/ARRESTS: Western District -- Two men were robbed

of their money about 2 a.m. yesterday by two men, one armed with a handgun, in the 1700 block of W. North Ave. Police later arrested two other men and were holding them at the station pending robbery charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 700 block of N. Carey St. was robbed of $20 by four teen-agers -- one with a gun -- as he stood on a corner of Edmondson and Fulton Avenues shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday.

OFFICER ASSAULTED: Southwestern District - Police arrested Dwight Jenkins, of the 4900 block of Clinton Ave., and charged him with assaulting Officer Amy Kelley while she and other officers attempted to arrest him in connection with the assault of a women with a pair of crutches last night. Police said neither the woman nor the officer was seriously hunt. In addition to the charge of assaulting a police officer, Mr. Jenkins also was bTC charged with the common assault and assault with a deadly weapon - the crutches. Mr. Jenkins was held overnight at the station lockup in lieu of $10,000 bail.

THEFT: Central District -- Two telephones, both valued at $105 each, were stolen from a room at the Maryland General Hospital in the 800 block of Linden Ave. over the weekend.

BURGLARY: Central District -- Someone broke into a house in the 1800 block of Bolton St. yesterday evening and stole a purse containing cash and property, all valued at $72.

ROBBERY: Central District -- A driver for Pizz-A-Bolis in the 300 of W. 29th St. was in the 2400 block of Callow Ave. about 8:30 p.m. Sunday when he was robbed of $70 by a man armed with a knife.

THEFT: Central District -- A radar detector and stereo equipment were stolen yesterday from a car owned by an out-of-town resident while it was parked in the 100 block of W. Read St.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 5300 block of Carriage Court was in the 3300 block of W. Baltimore St. yesterday when she was stopped by a gunman who robbed her of cash and property, all valued at $62.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone forced his way into a house in the 2900 block of Poplar Terrace yesterday and stole electronic equipment valued at $1,100.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- A man attacked a 20-year-old woman with a broom handle during an argument inside a house in the 2500 block of Cecil Ave. early yesterday morning. The woman sustained minor injuries to the face and head, but did not seek medical treatment.
