Hagerich sees duty in the Mediterranean

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Drew A. Hagerich, a 1989 graduate of Bel Air High School, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga, based in Mayport, Fla., is midway through a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea.

The petty officer's ship is presently conducting operations in thAdriatic Sea, establishing a Navy presence in the troubled region.

Since May, Petty Officer Hagerich crossed the Atlantic Ocean, transited the Strait of Gibraltar, Messina, Bonaficio and Sicily. He and his shipmates visited Naples, Italy; Palma, Spain; Cannes and Toulon, France, and Rhodes, Greece.

3' He joined the Navy in August, 1989.

Jones completes Marine basic training

Marine Pvt. Gregory W. Jones, son of Gregory W. Jones Sr. of Aberdeen, recently completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, introduce to typical military routine, and personal and professional standards.

OC Teamwork and self-discipline are emphasized throughout the cy cle.

The 1991 graduate of Aberdeen High School, joined the Marine Corps in May 1992.

Seabolt finishes Navy basic training

Navy Seaman Recruit Ronda E. Seabolt, daughter of William J. and Frances E. Cunningham of Abingdon, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Fla.

The 1987 graduate of Harford Vocational Technical High School joined the Navy in May 1992.

Coakley dispatched to Florida relief

Petty Officer 1st Class Michael L. Coakley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenower Coakley of Havre de Grace, is serving aboard the USS Hunley.

The USS Hunley is one of several ships currently dispatched t Florida for the relief effort as a result of Hurricane Andrew.

Petty Officer Coakley and his fellow shipmates are assisting i the massive relief efforts now under way in Dade County.

He is a 1979 graduate of Havre de Grace High School.

Coakley and his wife, Anita, and children reside in Virgini Beach, Va.
