The Clippers (2-0) built a 59-0 first- half lead on the strength of a 12-carry, 161-yard performance from running back John Sauer, who scored four touchdowns on 55-, 40-, 31-, and 1-yard runs.

Patterson's Willie McGirt threw just seven passes, but completed four for touchdowns. Pedro Morales (43 and 35 yards) caught two and Stacey Plater (32 yards) and Ronny Green (67 yards) each caught one.
