Baltimore City

ARREST: Southeastern District -- A man was arrested yesterday after he attempted to leave the Rite-Aid pharmacy in the 2200 block of E. Monument St. without paying for non-prescription medicine valued at $17. The man was held at the police station pending charges and a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- A resident of the 200 block of N. Collington Ave. was arrested Wednesday after he was said to have pointed a shotgun at a woman during an argument over money. The woman told police that during the argument about 10 p.m. the man got the weapon and pointed it at her. The woman called the police, who arrested the man at the scene without incident.

THEFT/ARREST: Southeastern District -- A man who attempted to leave McCroy's department store in the 400 block of S. Broadway yesterday without paying for items valued at nearly $12 was detained by a store security officer and held for city police. The man was held overnight at the police station pending theft charges.

ROBBERY/ARREST: Northeastern District -- A 66-year-old resident of the 4000 block of Belair Road was robbed of $25 worth of property Wednesday afternoon when a man assaulted her as she was getting into her car near her home. The woman was not injured. Later, a man was arrested in connection with the incident.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 3700 block of Erdman Ave. of his jewelry and watch after knocking him to the pavement near his home early yesterday morning. The two men escaped with property valued at more than $1,000.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A gunman robbed the Second National Bank in the 3200 block of Belair Road yesterday afternoon and escaped with an undisclosed sum. After the man entered the bank at 12:05 p.m., he approached a teller and pulled out the weapon. The gunman escaped on foot.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone broke into the U-Haul Co. building in the 4600 block of Belair Road yesterday morning by cutting a hole in an exterior wall and stole a safe containing $500.

STABBING: Northwestern District -- An unidentified man was stabbed several times in the left arm and back early today inside the J&J Discount Liquor store in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. by another man who entered the store and struck the man with his fists. Following the unprovoked stabbing, the man fled. The victim was taken to Sinai Hospital, where today he was listed in satisfactory condition. Police knew of no motive for the 1 a.m. attack.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 4300 block of Liberty Heights Ave. was in the 2800 block of N. Dukeland St. yesterday afternoon when he was attacked by a man who struck him over the head with a rock. The victim, Jamell Harris, was taken to the Liberty Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Police knew of no motive for the assault and were seeking the other man.

ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested Dennis Morrison, 36, of the 3900 block of Bareva Ave., and charged him with attempting to rob a woman at a service station in the 3300 block of W. Coldspring Lane yesterday evening. Greta Dry, of the 3900 block of W. Coldspring Lane, was at the station about 6 p.m. when a man attempted to rob her. The woman's son witnessed the incident and struck the man several times, causing him to fall to the pavement. The man was arrested at the scene and taken by ambulance to Sinai Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released to the custody of the police, who charged him with unarmed attempted robbery. Mr. Morrison was held overnight at the station pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY TRY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3400 block of Woodland Ave. was walking near his home yesterday evening when he was stopped by a gunman who demanded his money. After searching the victim and not finding any money, the gunman walked away.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, robbed a resident of the 3900 block of Park Heights Ave. of $40 yesterday evening while the victim walked near his home.

RAPE/ARREST: Northwestern District -- Police arrested a man yesterday and were holding him at the station pending charges of assaulting and raping a resident of the 5500 block of Bosworth Ave. The victim was asleep early yesterday morning when a man entered her bedroom and raped her. Armed with a description of the man, police arrested a suspect a short time later. The victim was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment and released.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3100 block of Baker St. was robbed of property valued at more than $140 early yesterday morning by a man who threatened her with bodily injury while she was in the 5800 block of Park Heights Ave.
