Edwin F. Hale honored

September 18, 1992

Edwin F. Hale Sr., chairman of Baltimore Bancorp, was inducted last night into the Containerization & Intermodal Institute Hall of Fame.

The ceremony in New York City honored Mr. Hale for his contributions to the industry during a time when the increasing use of containers to transport goods has a substantial impact on international trade. Using barges and trucks, Mr. Hale began a service in 1975 that linked cities throughout the Northeast from Norfolk, Va., to Boston via water and highway.

Hale Intermodal Transport is one of the leading shippers in New York and the largest employer at the port of Baltimore.
