Key band opens with 5th-place finish

September 16, 1992

Francis Scott Key's marching band opened its fall season at the Susquenita Competition Saturday, placing fifth in Class II.

The Eagles, who scored 67.55 in the Perry County, Pa., event, were the only county school to participate in the 12-band contest.

"We have done well, and I'm pleased with what the band is doing," said Dennis Davis, director.

"The kids have a good attitude. We picked up some good ideas. I think we will have a good program put together in the next couple weeks."

The county's five high school bands will compete in Liberty High's band extravaganza Sept. 26.
