HARRISONBURG, VA. — Freshman Chris Doyle headed in a pass from Marc Harriso and sophomore Bill Wnek scored unassisted to lead Loyola (2-0, 1-0) past Iona (0-3, 0-1) yesterday, 2-0, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.

Senior goalkeeper Shawn Boehmcke had four saves and recorded his 30th career shutout. The victory extends Loyola's conference win streak to 28 games, dating back to 1989.

Johns Hopkins 1, Stevens 0

Defender Sam Robb scored off a penalty kick at 28 minutes, 34 seconds in the first half to lead Johns Hopkins over Stevens (N.J.) College at the 12th Annual Domino's Pizza Blue Jay Classic in Elizabethtown, Pa.

The Blue Jays (1-2) finished third, with host Elizabethtown winning the tournament.

Junior Eric Schitt scored on a penalty kick with three seconds left in the first half and assisted on Davor Seric's goal in the second as Coastal Carolina (2-0-0, 1-0-0) ruined Towson State's (1-2-0, 0-1-0) debut in the Big South Conference.

Tigers goalkeeper Rich Pellegrini (John Carroll) had a career-high 12 saves to keep the Tigers in the game.

Malone College 2, Frostburg State 0

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Paul Roebrenbeck and Bobby Smith each scored goals in the second half for Malone in its victory over Frostburg State (1-1) at the Eastern Mennonite Classic.

Bob Wagner scored with a header early in the second half and Terry Locklear scored his first of two gaols on a throw-in as UMBC (2-1) defeated visiting Central Connecticut (2-2).

Freshman Mike Faubert scored an unassisted goal at the 21:09 mark in the first half to lift Mount St. Mary's over Maryland-Eastern Shore in Emmitsburg.

The win came in the first game of the Blue Ridge Invitational, and it was the season opener for the Hawks. The Mount (3-0) outshot the Hawks, 16-4, with Faubert taking five shots and Ryan Ray taking four. The Hawks' Brad Hauck had five saves.

Burlington County 2, Catonsville CC 1

PEMBERTON, N.J.

PEMBERTON, N.J. -- Catonsville's opener was spoiled by a penalty with 15 seconds remaining. The game was tied at the time, and Burlington's David Gross scored on the penalty kick.

Catonsville coach Bob Surette called the call "questionable." Brent Horter scored Catonsville's only goal. Catonsville faces Hagerstown CC on Wednesday.
