Aberdeen Eagles

September 13, 1992

Head coach: Patty McLaughlin (second season).

Assistant coaches: Susie Sumner, Cheryl Hinch.

1991 record: 4-7.

Returnees: Seniors Pauline Sawyer (F), Tracy Dunne (M), Jen Kravitz (F), Melody Doran (D), Diane Frost (D), Marleen Travers (D), Jesica Rivera (D), Heather Matthews (G); junior Ida Hernandez (F).

Newcomers: Senior Kendra Pryor (F); juniors Rose Garcia (D), Jay-me Kennedy (D), Christine Gallion (D); sophomores Susan Schwartz (F), Shannon Hagy (F), Melissa Bender (F), Mary Isibashi (F), Jennifer Meerdink (D).

Coach's outlook: "The thing we have going for us right now is our defense. I lost pretty much my entire line, so we need to develop some sophomores quickly and get our attack going. That's going to be the trick to getting us over .500."

Harford Sun outlook: McLaughlin has one thing that few other coaches do -- a returning goalie. After a year's experience and several summer camps, Matthews should be solid in the goal. With Rivera back at sweeper and Doran, Frost and Travers returning on defense, the Eagles should cut down on the goals allowed. With two sophomores joining Dunne and Kravitz on the line, the Eagles will have to improve quickly on offense. If they can overcome their inexperience, the Eagles should finish closer to .500.
