Western Maryland Green Terrors

September 13, 1992

Head coach: Jennifer Flynn (fourth season).

Assistant coaches: Colin Fraser, Jenn Gordon and Jim Francisco.

1991 record: 5-9.

Returnees: Senior Michelle Miller (A); juniors Kirsten Borgeson (D), Sarah Kephart (GK); sophomores Paula Moyer (D), Christa Mose (MF).

Newcomers: Freshmen Rebecca Deux (MF), Julie Cox (A).

Coach's outlook: "We have a lot more depth this year and a lot more versatility. We still have a relatively new program -- in only its sixth year. We're just taking it one step at a time."

Carroll County Sun outlook: The Green Terrors did a commendable job winning five games with only 12 players on the roster most of the time last season. With a 17-player turnout this year, Coach Flynn has a lot more flexibility to work with. Chances are she'll use everyone with players seeing different positions. A key will be the development of junior Sarah Kephart in goal, who is being converted from the field this season. The defense looks solid in front of her. This is an important season for the program's development with Flynn gunning for a winning season. Look for the Green Terrors to improve on last year's mark and be somewhere around the .500 mark by season's end.

The Western Maryland women's soccer preview was mistakenly omitted from the Carroll Sun's preview of the county's other soccer teams Sept. 6.
