Kelly to end training in Orlando, Fla.
Amy Marie Kelly, daughter of Dolores J. Kelly of Gamber and Dennis A. Kelly of Hampstead, enlisted in the U.S. Navy while a senior at Liberty High School.
The 1992 high school graduate began basic training July 22 in Orlando, Fla., and will graduate Sept. 25. She will have two
weeks' leave before starting a seven-week course in yeomanry in Mississippi.
Her full tour of duty is eight years, four in active duty and four in reserve duty.
5/8 Jessica K. Ferguson of Westminster and Ralph M. Goodwin IV of New Windsor have enlisted in the U.S. Army's Delayed Entry Program.
Ms. Ferguson, daughter of Nancy Stachowiak, is a Westminster High School graduate. She will report for active duty Oct. 9 and begin basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
She will take advanced individ ual training at Redstone Arsenal, Ala.
She has chosen to be an ammunition specialist and has volunteered for a four-year tour of duty.
She also has qualified to receive the Army College Fund of $25,200 for higher education on completion of her enlistment.
Mr. Goodwin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph M. Goodwin III and a South Carroll High School graduate. He reported for duty Sept. 4 to Fort Knox, Ky., for basic training.
