Terra Nova to perform
Baltimore's folk quartet Terra Nova will perform at 2 p.m. today at the River Terrace South Stage at the eighth annual Kennedy Center Open House Arts Festival.
The free, daylong festival kicks off a yearlong celebration of the culture of the Americas. It will feature theater, music and dance performances by area artists whose origins and cultural arts are in the Western Hemisphere.
Terra Nova performs a mix of acoustic music, including traditional and contemporary American folk as well as original material.
The open house is held from noon to 6 p.m. inside and outside the Kennedy Center. For details, call (202) 467-4600. Fells Point Corner Theatre, 251 S. Ann St., begins its challenging new season on Friday with "Baby With the Bathwater," Christopher Durang's wacky, warped look at child-rearing.
Steve Goldklang directs the production, which features Tom Lodge and Patrick Johnson. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m., with matinees Sundays at 2 p.m., through Oct. 25. Tickets are $9. For more information, call (410) 276-7837.
