Randy G. Patterson Collected antiques

Randy Gene Patterson, a collector of antiques and a furniture refinisher, died Aug. 30 at his home in Elkridge of kidney failure. He was 35.

Born in Riverdale and reared in Laurel, Mr. Patterson worked for 10 years at Arundel Furniture Co., a Laurel business dealing in new and used furniture. He started as a truck driver and was manager of the business at the time of his death.

His brother Charles said Mr. Patterson, who lived in Elkridge, "loved antique clocks and old furniture. He was also devoted to his dog, Maxwell."

He is survived by a daughter, Brooke Leigh Patterson of Mount Airy; his father, Lester Charles Patterson of Laurel; his mother and stepfather, Iris and Wallace Anderson of Frederick; three brothers, Michael Wayne Patterson of Sarasota, Fla., Daniel zTC Keith Patterson of Laurel and Charles R. Patterson of Elkridge; and his maternal grandmother, Sara Collins of Sarasota, Fla.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Bon Secours Home Health Hospice Program, 1138 Hollins St., Baltimore, Md. 21223; or to the AIDS Alliance of Howard County, 2875 Bethany Lane, Ellicott City, Md. 21042.

Services were held Tuesday at the Donaldson Funeral Home in Laurel.
