W. Md. Green Terrors 1992 FIELD HOCKEY OUTLOOK

September 06, 1992

Head coach: Tricia Muneses, second year

Assistant coach: Kathy Railey

1991 record: 5-8-1.

Top returnees: Seniors Beth Longnecker (Link), Jodi Livingston (F), Lori Sweitzer (D), Beth Niedecker (D); junior Sherri Albright (G).

L Top newcomers: Freshmen Heather Seaburg (D), Amy Sherif (L).

l Coach's outlook: "We have a lot of talent and experience and should be a steady team all year. That will be a plus for Western Maryland. We depended on defense too much last year. Now, we're emphasizing attacking, from our goalie on down. We've moved some attack players back to defense this year and that will help us be more aggressive. This is our last year in the Middle Atlantic Conference, so we want to go for it and have a good year."

Carroll County Sun outlook: The Green Terrors appear ready to bounce back from an inconsistent season last year. They lost high-scoring Dina Comuzzi, who had six goals against Goucher last season, but co-captain Jodi Livingston is back. Livingston scored three goals in a 3-0 victory over Johns Hopkins last season, one of the highlights for the Terrors.
