F. Scott Key Eagles 1992 FIELD HOCKEY OUTLOOK

September 06, 1992

Head coach: Mindy Wagner, first year.

Assistant coach: Donna Baker.

1991 record: 8-7-2.

Top returnees: Seniors Crissy Naurot (F), Joy Shandrowski (L), Krissy Kirk (RW); junior Becky Tregoning (CH); sophomore Hally Talbert (LW).

Top newcomers: Sophomores Laurie Ryer (HB), Missy Muller (GK).

Coach's outlook: "We need a jump start to make us willing to play hard and hustle. I keep telling the players that no one has a position nailed down no matter what has happened in the past, and I mean it. We have good stick work and some speed throughout the team. We have good kids, but they need to work a little hard. If we put our heads into it, all things are possible this season.

Carroll County Sun outlook: The Eagles have a lot of field hockey tradition at the state 1A level, winning five state championships and going to the semifinals under Marie Wilson, who is not coaching this season because of health reasons. FSK figures to keep on winning under enthusiastic and no-nonsense first-year coach Mindy Wagner, who at 23 is the youngest field hockey head coach in Carroll County. Wagner, only 4-foot-11, is also the smallest head coach in the county.
