Delgado, Castillo run neck and neck Both riders gain two winners in jockey race at Timonium

Alberto Delgado rode two winners yesterday at Timonium Race Course and stayed one victory ahead of Freddy Castillo, who also rode two winners, in the meeting's jockey race.

Delgado, who leads with seven winners in Timonium's first five days, rode Tripledogdare ($7.80) in the fifth race and Rumbuster ($4.80) in the 10th.

Castillo, riding both winners out of the No. 1 slot and hugging the rail for wire-to-wire wins, has six winners.

He scored on Blazing Finale ($5.80) in the first race and on Saiva ($4.60) in the sixth.

National Pic-6

The National Pic-6 will begin Sept. 12 with six stakes races, one of which will be the $100,000 Columbia Stakes from Pimlico Race Course.

Other races, all simulcasts, will be the $150,000 Budweiser Breeders' Cup from Philadelphia Park; the $62,500 Marfa Handicap from Turfway Park; the $125,000 Susan's Girl stakes from Calder Downs; the $75,000 Breeders' Oaks from Louisiana Downs; and the $150,000 Washington Handicap from Arlington International Racecourse.

Post time for the first race will be 5:10 p.m. The final post time will be 5:49 p.m. Bettors will have to place wagers before the first of the six races.
